Four Bulldogs in Double-Digit Kills in a Four-Set Victory Over ETSU

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Mackenzie Martin, Sophie Childs, Ali Ruffin, and Sadie Gomez recorded double-digit kills in a four-set victory (25-23, 25-14, 21-25, 25-15) over the ETSU Buccaneers on Friday night.

  • An early 4-0 scoring run by The Citadel sparked by a kill from Sadie Gomez gave the Bulldogs the lead at 9-8 in the first set.
  • The Bulldogs' lead grew to three at 23-20 late in the first with back-to-back service aces from Mackenzie Martin and Ali Ruffin.
  • ETSU made a late run at 24-23, but a kill from Sophie Childs shut that down to give the Bulldogs the first set at 25-23.
