Biography

CAREER (entering 2014 season): Has appeared in 61 games with 28 starts over the past three seasons … owns a record of 8-11 with an ERA of 4.50 … in 196.0 innings has allowed 211 hits and 126 runs (98 earned) … walked 81 and struck out 139.

JUNIOR (2013): Made two midweek starts and appeared in eight games in relief before rejoining the weekend rotation as the Saturday starter against Western Carolina in late March … had three of his four wins in SoCon action … allowed two earned runs and struck out six in 5.2 innings in a win over Elon (4/6) … went six innings and surrendered five hits and two earned runs while fanning six to pick up the victory against Appalachian State (4/20) … worked a season-high 6.2 innings, giving up only four hits and one run with no walks and six strikeouts in a win over College of Charleston (5/11) … was the winning pitcher in a non-conference victory over UNC Asheville (3/3) … had two outstanding starts but settled for no-decisions against Georgia Southern (4/13) and Davidson (5/4) … worked 5.2 innings of two-hit, shutout ball with seven strikeouts against the Eagles and matched his career high with eight strikeouts in 6.1 innings against the Wildcats … went 3.1 shutout innings and allowed only one hit in a relief role against Charleston Southern (2/27) and came out of the bullpen to twirl a pair of scoreless innings with two strikeouts against Georgia Tech (3/26) … helped The Citadel stay within striking distance of Elon in the SoCon tournament championship game (5/26) with 3.2 innings of relief work, allowing four hits and no runs while fanning four.

SOPHOMORE (2012): Pitched in 16 games with 14 starts and posted a record of 3-4 and a 4.89 ERA … worked 77.1 innings, the second most on the team, and struck out 51 while walking 33 … threw six innings of two-hit, shutout ball in a 2-0 win over Davidson (5/6) … allowed four hits and no runs with five strikeouts in a 3-2 win over Delaware (2/26) … picked up a victory in relief against North Florida (5/2) when he gave up two hits and no runs in two innings … fanned a season-high eight in six innings in a no-decision against Western Carolina (3/11).

FRESHMAN (2011): Made a total of 25 appearances with three starts and had a record of 1-4 with an ERA of 5.36 … struck out 24 batters in 43.2 innings … made his first career start a memorable one against third-ranked South Carolina (4/12) … pitched scoreless ball into the ninth, allowing eight hits and striking out three in a 2-0 victory for The Citadel’s first shutout of the Gamecocks since 1971 … that performance earned him Southern Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week and CB360 Primetime National Pitcher of the Week honors … did not allow a run in 11 appearances, including a streak of eight straight from 2/27 to 3/23 … struck out at least one batter in 16 games.

HIGH SCHOOL: A graduate of Rock Hill High School … lettered three times in baseball … recorded 142 strikeouts his senior year and was named team MVP and to the all-region and all-state teams … selected to the North/South all-star team.

PERSONAL: Son of Kenny and Donna Workman and Dwayne and Jane Cribb … majoring in health, exercise and sport science.
