The Bulldogs head into the match, slated to begin at 7 p.m., on the heels of a Southern Conference victory over Western Carolina. The match completes a season series which includes a Sept. 21 meeting when the Bulldogs became the first of only two conference teams to earn a first set victory over the Cougars.
October 30, 2010 Women's Volleyball Citadel Spikers Sweep Western Carolina The Citadel Volleyball team, behind the play of seniors Tatum Jestila and Blaine McAllister, defeated Western Carolina to earn their first Southern Conference win of the season by scores of 25-18, 28-26 and 25-19 on Saturday afternoon. The tandem accounted for a combined 21 kills and were the catalyst to a Bulldogs front row unit that finished with a .238 attack percentage. The sweep marks the first in conference action since a 2009 against Western Carolina in Cullowhee.
October 29, 2010 Women's Volleyball Citadel Volleyball Hosts Western Carolina Saturday Afternoon The Citadel Volleyball team makes one of its last four appearances at McAlister Field House this season when they host Southern Conference foe Western Carolina on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs have emerged victorious in the last two meetings with the Catamounts, including a 3-1 win in 2008 and a sweep in Cullowhee last season. The match is set to begin at 2 p.m.
October 24, 2010 Women's Volleyball Spartans Topple The Citadel, 3-1 Kaona Mercer completed a solid weekend of play with a 14-kill, four dig performance in The Citadel's 3-1 loss at UNC Greensboro on Saturday evening. The Spartans won the four-set match by scores of 30-28, 25-10, 22-25 and 25-23. Mercer topped all players with a .345 attack percentage, as she finished with four errors in only 29 total attempts.
October 23, 2010 Women's Volleyball Bulldogs Struggles Continue At Elon The Citadel's sophomore outside hitter, Kaona Mercer, was the bright spot with 13 kills in a three-set loss to Elon (26-24, 25-16, 25-18) on Saturday night. It marks the eighth time this season that Mercer has eclipsed double figures in kills, the last coming on the road against Wofford, when she tallied 10.
October 21, 2010 Women's Volleyball Bulldogs Seek First SoCon Win in Weekend Series with Elon, UNCG The Citadel Volleyball team will play a road match for the first time since Oct. 2, when they play a weekend series against Elon and UNC Greensboro. The Bulldogs seek out their first Southern Conference victory of the season on Friday against the Phoenix. Elon is a perfect 10-0 in the all-time series between the two teams. On Saturday, against UNCG, The Citadel looks to win their second straight match in the series after a 3-1 victory at McAlister Field House last season. Both matches are slated to start at 7 p.m.

The Citadel volleyball team will be wearing pink jersey's, playing the match with pink volleyball's in an effort to raise awareness for breast cancer research. October 2, 2010 Women's Volleyball Furman Downs The Citadel in Three Sets Despite a team-high nine kills from Kaona Mercer and eight kills each from Rachael Farrell and Tatum Jestila, The Citadel Volleyball team was unable to overcome Furman by scores of 25-18, 25-18 and 25-18 on Friday evening. The trio combined for 25 of the team's 35 total kills and were integral in the Bulldogs finishing with a .204 attack percentage in the match.

Behind the performances of Cassie Uribe (12 kills, three assisted blocks) and Kaona Mercer (11 kills, two assisted blocks) the Bulldogs dominated the front row with 34 kills and a .391 hitting percentage.
September 9, 2010 Women's Volleyball The Citadel Volleyball Takes Home First Victory of the Season Amanda Beal finished with nine kills to help lead The Citadel Volleyball team to a 25-7, 25-7, 25-15 victory over Savannah State on Wednesday night at McAlister Field House. The Bulldogs, who had nine players finish with at least one kill, controlled the front with a .470 hitting percentage. With the victory, the Cadets have won each of the last 14 games against the Tigers, dating back to 2002 season.

April 30, 2010 Women's Volleyball The Carolyn Geiger Volleyball Camp Slated To Start July 23 Carolyn Geiger is entering her fifth season as head coach of The Citadel Volleyball program. Under her reign, the program has seen its greatest success both overall and within the Southern Conference. In her first three seasons, she recorded more wins than the program had previously earned in its history. Through her camps, Geiger hopes to promote the sport of volleyball among the community and, as a result, gain support for a young program that is making great strides to becoming a contender in the Southern Conference.
