Citadel Volleyball Set for “Dig Pink” Match with Savannah State
Charleston, S.C. – On Tuesday evening, when The Citadel volleyball team hosts Savannah State, the 20th all-time meeting between the two programs will also serve as the Bulldogs' sixth-annual "Dig Pink" match.
The Citadel participates in the nationwide program, sponsored by Sideout, which has set a goal to raise $2 million for breast cancer research this year. Bulldog fans will have the opportunity to purchase $10 pink Citadel volleyball t-shirts. Over the course of the last five seasons, the Bulldog volleyball program has contributed over $2,800 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
The Bulldogs (4-17, 0-6 SoCon) are looking to halt a six-match losing streak that dates back to a Sept. 27 loss UNCG. Just two days prior to that loss to the Spartans, The Citadel completed a 25-16, 25-18, 25-23 victory at Savannah State.
Savannah State has lost its last six matches since playing The Citadel, including five straight against Mid-Eastern Atlantic Conference opponents.
