Bulldogs Complete Spring Slate with Win Over S.C. State
Charleston, S.C. — The Citadel volleyball team wrapped up its 2012 spring schedule following a hard fought five-set match against South Carolina State on Wednesday evening. The Cadets claimed their third victory of the slate by scores of 25-22, 23-25, 25-21, 20-25 and 15-7.
"South Carolina State had a very senior laden team and we responded to their challenge very well," said head coach Amir Khaledi. "Offensively the efforts of Ise d'Angelo and Emily Dalton, who has had a great spring performance as our libero, carried us to this victory."
Khaledi and his unit will turn their focus to the 2012 season opener against North Arizona on Aug. 24 at the UNLV Tournament.
"As a team we have worked really hard on and off the court," Khaledi continued. "Our performance in the weight room has helped tremendously in our physical movement on the court. The team's performance has improved because of the commitment to our conditioning program."
