CHARLESTON, S.C.—The Citadel Volleyball team earned a pair of victories over Charleston Southern and Armstrong Atlantic State University at the CSU Spring Tournament this weekend.

The Bulldogs opened the morning session with a victory over host Charleston Southern by scores of 25-8, 23-25, 15-11. The Cadets followed with a three set win (22-25, 25-5, 15-12) over Armstrong Atlantic State. In their final game of the afternoon The Citadel fell to defending MEAC champion and 2010 NCAA Tournament participant South Carolina State 18-25, 25-22, 11-15.

"I am pleased with the spring schedule because we were able make improvements both individually and as a team," said head coach Amir Khaledi following the matches. "We showed great resolve in individual workouts and both of the tournaments that we played. I hope to carry this momentum into the fall, especially since this core group of players will be competing in the fall season."

The matches complete the team portion of spring slate, returning to action on April 17 at the Coastal Carolina Spring Beach Fest. For more information on Bulldog Volleyball, visit the official website of The Citadel Athletics at www.citadelsports.com.
