Charleston Tops The Citadel, 3-0

Charleston, SC - Marina Daniel paced The Citadel with 12 kills and Crystal Bessler tallied 16 assists but it was not enough as the College of Charleston squelched Bulldog rallies in games two and three to sweep The Citadel 3-0 (30-16, 30-18, 30-21) in Southern Conference volleyball action Friday night in McAlister Field House.

Rebecca Wieters led the cougars with 13 kills and Kacie Carr gave out 29 set assists for the Cougars. Marie Dobrenz recorded six service aces and Tiffany Blum had six block assists.

The Citadel and Charleston face off again tomorrow at 2:00 pm at the College of Charleston's Johnson Center.
