Bulldogs Host Francis Marion in Soccer Season Finale on Wednesday
Charleston, S.C. – The Citadel concludes its 2013 soccer season on Wednesday when Francis Marion visits WLI Field for a non-conference game beginning at 2 p.m.
The Bulldogs (5-10-2) will be seeking their sixth win of the year, the second most in school history, while also attempting to even the series against the Patriots. Francis Marion won the only previous matchup by a score of 2-0 in Charleston in 2006.
Freshman Lea Raedle leads The Citadel in scoring with 13 points and is tied with Vanessa Aponte for the single-season school record with seven assists. Despite missing the last 10 games with a knee injury, Mariana Garcia still tops the Bulldogs with six goals, one more than Nicole Levermann.
Raedle is tied for third in the Southern Conference and tied for 48th in the nation in assists. Fellow freshman Naomi Carter is first in the conference and third in the country with 141 saves and fourth nationally in saves per game with 8.81.
Chanel Harris is the top scorer for Francis Marion (1-17) with seven goals and 16 points while Yasmin Bunter has a team-high seven assists.
