Charleston, S.C. – The Bulldogs will take the mats on Wednesday night in McAlister Field House against the Southern Conference's newest affiliate member in wrestling, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville. The matches are slated to begin at 7 p.m.

Along with it being the Bulldogs' first conference match against the Cougars, it will also be the first meeting between the two teams in program history. SIUE (3-11, 1-1 SoCon) made the leap from a club team to Division I in 2012.

The Bulldogs (3-5, 2-2 SoCon) will look to bounce back after a hard-fought loss to defending SoCon champion Chattanooga on Sunday. The Mocs earned a late pin in the 197-pound bout to edge out the Bulldogs, 22-20.

Four Citadel grapplers will look to improve on their perfect conference dual records as eighth-ranked Ugi Khishignyam, 14th-ranked Odie Delaney, Aaron Hansen and Matt Frisch are all unscathed on the year.

Matt Frisch, who transferred from Northern Illinois after redshirting there a season ago, has accumulated four consecutive major decision victories en route to racking up a 20-11 mark in his first collegiate season.

Summerville native Aaron Hansen (15-13) will take on Patrick Myers (13-6) in the 133-pound bout. Hansen has outscored conference foes by a 27-7 margin in four matches, not allowing a single point in his last two.

Odie Delaney, who currently leads the SoCon in pins with 11, has racked up 26 wins during the 2012-13 campaign, bringing his career total to 109. The redshirt senior sits just two victories shy of tying Ryan McClester for third most in Citadel history and eight short of Travis Piccard with 117.
