Charleston, S.C. – The Citadel wrestling team is set to take on 25th-ranked Old Dominion in the first round of the 33rd Annual Virginia Duals on Friday at 11 a.m. The two-day event will take place at the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton Roads, Va.

The National College bracket will feature 16 teams, including five ranked in the most recent USA Today/NWCA/AWN Division I Coaches Poll – No. 9 Central Michigan, No. 10 Virginia Tech, No. 16 Edinboro, No. 19 Virginia and No. 25 Old Dominion.

The Bulldogs' opening dual will feature a rematch of last week's Southern Scuffle semifinal at 141 pounds when No. 8 Ugi Khishignyam (24-3) faces off against 17th-ranked Chris Mecate. The Bulldog grappler edged out Mecate in a 3-1 decision to earn a spot in the finals against ninth-ranked Mike Nevinger of Cornell.

Friday will mark the eighth time that the Bulldogs (1-1) and Monarchs (3-2) will be pitted against each other dating back to 1967. Old Dominion holds a 5-2 edge in the series.

Depending on the outcome of the match, The Citadel will take on either No. 16 Edinboro or Army at 3 p.m. on Friday.

Odie Delaney, who is currently ranked 14th nationally in the heavyweight division, will compete in his first match since earning his 100th win last week at the Southern Scuffle. The redshirt senior also collected his 50th career pin earlier this season at the Reno Tournament of Champions.
