Delaney Named SoCon Wrestler of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Citadel redshirt-junior Odie Delaney has been honored as the Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week for all competitions from February 15-21.

Delaney went 3-0 on the week with a pair of pins in three dual matches. Delaney closed the SoCon regular season slate with a pin against Campbell's Joe Nolan at 4:22 that clinched the victory for the Bulldogs. The junior heavyweight then earned a 6-1 decision over North Carolina's Nick Tenpenny and another fall against Sacred Heart's Renaldo Cuko on Sunday. Delaney improved to 24-2 on the season, including a perfect 15-0 in dual meets.

The redshirt-junior has recorded 13 pins on the season and his pin over Cuko at the 54-second mark was his third sub-1:00 fall of the year. Delaney is currently ranked No. 14 by InterMat and No. 13 by WrestlingReport.com and D1CollegeWrestling.net.
