Smith Paces Wrestlers to Fourth-Place Finish at Navy Classic

Annapolis, Md. – Top-seeded Kelby Smith captured the 197-pound title as The Citadel Wrestling team placed fourth at the 34th annual Navy Classic Saturday afternoon at the United States Naval Academy. Smith captured four decisions en route to the title after going 3-0 the previous weekend at the Wrestle for a Cure Duals.

Jack Duane finished second in the 184-pound division, falling to top-seeded Luke Rebertus of Navy in the final, while Kyle Casaletto placed third at 133 pounds. Richard Alarcon, Jordan Dix and Pierre Frazile all picked up fourth place finishes for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs return to action on Dec. 4 at the Nittany Lion Open, hosted by Penn State in State College, Pa.
