Wrestling Hosts The Citadel Open on Sunday
Charleston, S.C. - The Citadel wrestling team will open their 2011-2012 season on Sunday at McAlister Field House when they host The Citadel Open. The event starts at 9 a.m. and runs all day. Admission for The Citadel Open is $5.
The tournament will once again feature freshman and sophomores from over 22 schools around the southeast that include Appalachian State, Chattanooga, Duke, Gardner Webb, Limestone and Newberry. Bulldog upperclassmen will be competing at the Hokie Open hosted by Virginia Tech on Sunday.
The Bulldogs will look to build off last season in which they finished with an overall record of 8-12 and a fourth-place finish at the Southern Conference Championships in March. The Citadel returns their seven starters from last season's line-up and welcomes 16 newcomers to the squad this season.
A recap and full results following the day's events will follow at the conclusion of action. For more information on Bulldog Wrestling, visit the official website of The Citadel Athletics at www.CitadelSports.com.
