MILITARY WRESTLING SHOWCASE AT THE CITADEL

Charleston, SC - The Citadel wrestling team will be in action Saturday February 15th at 4:30 p.m. Virginia Military Institute and The Citadel are scheduled to battle outside in First Battalion on The Citadel's campus. Inclement weather conditions will move the dual into McAlister Field House if necessary.
"This is an important dual for us," commented head coach Rob Hjerling. "It has been a while since we beat VMI, and we have not beaten them since I began coaching here."
The cadets hold a dual meet record of 11-2 and are 2-1 in the Southern Conference. VMI won the All-Academy Championships. The Citadel is coming off of a 31-15 dual meet victory over Chattanooga, the 2002 SoCon regular season and tournament champions.
"Each individual match is important especially because we will see them again in three weeks at our national qualifying tournament," added Hjerling.
The public will get a rare chance to enter the first battalion and no admission will be charged.
