Pellegrini Moves Up Four Spots in 2012 Southern Conference Championship

– Sophomore Erica Pellegrini and senior Alanna-Jean Keith posted scores of 82 and 84, respectively, in second round action of the 2012 Southern Conference Championship on Monday. The tandem anchored a Citadel golf team that enters final round action in 10th place with a two-day team score of 697 (+121).

The top individual performer for the Bulldogs continues to be Pellegrini, whose two-day score of 167 (+23) places her in a four-way tie for 37th alongside Lauren Dunbar (Wofford), Kristi Ingram (Elon) and Courtney Taylor (UNCG).

Keith (174, +30) fired an 84, six strokes better than her opening round score, to move one stroke ahead of teammate Bree Baumgartner.  Baumgartner (178, +34) enters the final round of her collegiate career in 46th after shooting a 90 in second round action.

Rounding out the Bulldogs remaining participants were freshmen Kellie Anderson (184, +40) and Devin Lowe, who withdrew from action.

UNCG maintained its four-stroke lead on Monday at Moss Creek Golf Club. The Spartans fired a 610 (+22) in the second round, followed closely by Chattanooga which shot a 620 (+15). The Mocs jumped four spots in the standings after 36 holes. College of Charleston rounds out the top three with a score of 631 (+55).

Chattanooga's Jordan Britt is atop the individual leaderboard at 148 (+4). The sophomore fired a 71 (-1) in the second round. She is followed by teammate Maria Juliana Loza and Furman's Alexa Rancourt, who are tied for the second spot at 151 (+7).

The tournament concludes on Tuesday with an 8 a.m. start.
