Coach Bonacci Adds Three Signees to Bulldog Golf Team
The Citadel Head Golf Coach Lori Bonacci announced that the Bulldogs have signed three newcomers to the roster for the upcoming 2011-12 season. The three freshmen will replace graduating seniors Christine Clark, Kate Hardina, and Sheri Rockefeller.
"Next year looks very promising with three solid, strong, players coming in. We will have a competitive group which will push our returning players to work harder during practice and match play," said Bonacci.
Takima Denise Butler is a transfer from Spartanburg Methodist College where she competed on the women's golf team. Butler is a 2009 graduate of Aiken High School (Aiken, S.C.) where she participated on the softball, basketball, and golf teams. Butler will enter The Citadel in the fall as a criminal justice major.
Devin Jessica Lowe will be a 2011 graduate from Wakulla High School (Crawfordville, Fla.), where she received four letters in golf and one in softball. Lowe was named to All Big Bend Golf Team four years in a row and helped her team to the state finals in the 2010-11 season. The incoming freshman will begin classes in the fall as a computer science major.
Kellie Marie Anderson will be a 2011 graduate of Walter E. Stebbins High School (Dayton, Ohio), where she earned four letter on the golf team. Anderson received the CBI Sportsmanship Award, Ohio High School Golf Coaches Recognition for Academic Excellence Award, the Coaches Award twice, and was a Scholar Athlete for her school team for all four years. Anderson will enter The Citadel in the fall as a business administration major.
"These three signees will give us the fourth and fifth scores that we need to keep us competitive against strong SoCon teams," Bonacci added.
