The men finished the meet in fourth place with 79 points while the women took ninth out of twelve teams with 14.5 points.

April 14, 2012 Bulldogs Break Two School Records and Capture Numerous Season Bests at Carolina’s Cup David Melton broke his own school record in the pole vault for the third time this season as the sophomore cleared the bar at 16-feet, while Micah Wessinger nabbed the school record in the 400 with a mark of 57.20, .18 seconds better than Alexis Moore’s record-breaking run in 2007 as the Bulldogs finished up action at the Carolina’s Cup on Friday.

March 30, 2012 Women’s Sprint Medley Relay Crush School Record at Opening Day of Raleigh Relays The quartet consisting of Tanisha Bethel, Alexandria Moss, Danielle McKee and Micah Wessinger shattered the school record in the sprint medley relay by eight seconds on Friday, recording a time of 4:06 at the Raleigh Relays hosted by N.C. State.

March 19, 2012 Melton Captures School Record in Pole Vault as Bulldogs Conclude Shamrock Invitational David Melton cleared the bar at 15’7” in the pole vault at the three-day Shamrock Invitational to break a 31-year-old record of 15’6” set by Bill Burke in 1981. The Mt. Pleasant, S.C., native now holds both the indoor and outdoor pole vault records for the Bulldogs.
March 15, 2012 Levermann, Glenn Carry Out Solid Performances at First Day of Shamrock Invitational Nicole Levermann and Ellison Glenn currently sit in eighth and tenth place, respectively, in the heptathlon and decathlon after day one of the Shamrock Invitational. The opening day of the meet, which consists of 54 collegiate teams from around the country, included four heptathlon events and five decathlon events.

The meet concluded with 19 records broken.
March 8, 2012 Bulldogs Host Palmetto Classic to Open 2012 Outdoor Slate The Citadel Track and Field teams, along with the College of Charleston and the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department, are set to host the Palmetto Classic on Friday, March 9 at the Park West Track Complex in Mount Pleasant, S.C. The meet, which features 10 teams, will begin with field events at 12:30 p.m. with the women's hammer throw, followed by the men. The running events will begin at 3 p.m. with the women’s 3,000.

February 24, 2012 Miller Advances to Finals in 200 and 400 on Day One of SoCon Championships Junior Brunson Miller broke his own school record in the 400 for the second time this season with a time of 47.77 on Thursday to advance to the finals at the Southern Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. Miller also posted a top time in the 200 preliminaries with a personal-best mark of 21.68. The six-time conference title winner will go for his seventh and eighth on Friday.
February 24, 2012 Miller Smashes Conference Record in 400 to Defend Title for Third Consecutive Year Brunson Miller broke a 23-year-old Southern Conference record in the 400 set by VMI’s Mario Small in the 400 on Friday posting a time of 46.97 en route to earning his seventh SoCon title and third consecutive in the event. The Murrells Inlet, S.C., native was named the 2012 Most Outstanding Track Performer for the indoor championship meet by the conference.

The Bulldog field athletes shined as senior Quintin Turner captured second place in the shot put with a personal-best mark of 47’6.35”, while sophomore Dylan Gidado grabbed fourth, heaving the shot put 43’5”.

The prestigious meet, in its 117th occurrence, is one of the world’s largest and oldest relay carnivals.

Pressly Stadium. The Florida Relays featured several collegiate teams such as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and Southeastern Conference (SEC), as well as club teams, such as Nike and Adidas, from various areas of the country.

February 27, 2011 Miller, 4X400m Relay Claim Titles at the 2011 SoCon Indoor Track and Field Championships Sophomore Brunson Miller ran a 47.9 on the last leg of the 4X400m relay team to sprint for a come-from-behind victory to claim the 2011 Southern Conference Indoor title. The Citadel's men finished in fifth place overall with 49 points, while the women earned a ninth place finish with 13 points.

Held in the Clemson Indoor Track and Field Complex in Jervey Meadows, the two-day meet will be hosted by Clemson University in what the Tigers list as their largest home meet of the season.

This is Miller's second consecutive weekly honor in as many weeks.

February 6, 2011 Miller Earns Second Place Thriller at Niswonger Invitational Sophomore Brunson Miller placed second in the 400m dash by a slim .01 second, following a photo finish, as the Bulldog track and field teams concluded competition at the Niswonger Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 5.
February 6, 2011 Miller Tabbed Men's Track Athlete of the Week Sophomore Brunson Miller was selected as the Southern Conference Men's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week for meets during the weekend of Jan. 28-30. The selections are made by the league's track and field coaches.
February 5, 2011 Wessinger, Castagno Successful as Bulldogs Concluded Day One of Niswonger Invitational For the second consecutive meet sophomore Micah Wessinger and senior Christopher Castagno led the Bulldogs with highlight performances, as The Citadel track and field teams completed day one at the Niswonger Invitational on Friday, Feb. 4. Hosted by East Tennessee State University, the competition is held at the ETSU/MSHA Athletics Center on the David E. Walker Track.

January 30, 2011 Bulldog Men Earn Top Finishes While Breaking School Records at Wesley A. Brown Invitational The Citadel men's track and field team recorded three first place finishes and along the way broke a pair of school records on Saturday, Jan. 29 at the Wesley A. Brown Invitational. Hosted by the United States Naval Academy, the meet also featured teams from LaSalle, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and William and Mary.
January 30, 2011 Wessinger Sets School Record in the 600m on the Final Day of the Captain's Invitational Sophomore Micah Wessinger ran to the top of The Citadel's all-time list in the 600m when she recorded a first place time of 1:37.68, as The Citadel women's track and field team concluded the Captain's Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 29.

January 28, 2011 Bulldogs Set for Track and Field Season Opener The Citadel Track and Field teams are set to open the 2011 season Friday, Jan. 28 and Saturday, Jan. 29 when the women travel to the Captain's Invitational in Newport News, Va. and the men trek further north to Annapolis, Md. for the Wesley A. Brown Invitational.
December 9, 2010 Bulldog Track and Field Announces 2011 Schedule Head coach Jody Huddleston and The Citadel track and field program announced the 2011 schedule on Thursday. The Bulldogs will compete in seven indoor competitions and 12 outdoor competitions.
