Allen Treks to Clemson for Tiger Qualifier
Clay Allen will head to Clemson for the second straight week to compete in the javelin at the Tiger Qualifier held on the Rock Norman Track. The sophomore, currently ranked 55th, will need an impressive heave to make the top 48 and move on to the NCAA East Region Qualifier.

Allen Set To Compete at Bob Pollock Invitational
Clay Allen will head to Clemson to compete in the javelin at the Bob Pollock Invitational held on the Rock Norman Track. The meet is named in honor of the former Bulldog coach and Citadel graduate who guided Clemson to 21 ACC Championships in cross country and track & field from 1988-2008. Pollock passed away in 2010.

Bulldogs Close Out Season at Penn Relay Carnival
The Citadel Track and Field teams competed in the Penn Relays over the weekend on the historical Franklin Field, sending competitors for the shot put and javelin. The prestigious meet, in its 118th occurrence, is one of the world's largest and oldest relay carnivals.

Bulldog Men Finish Fourth, Women Ninth at 2012 SoCon Outdoor Championships
Quintin Turner heaved the shot put 50’9.5” to take second place and earn all-conference honors at the 2012 Southern Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at the Catamount Athletic Complex. The men finished the meet in fourth place with 79 points while the women took ninth out of twelve teams with 14.5 points.

Bulldogs Break Two School Records and Capture Numerous Season Bests at Carolina’s Cup
David Melton broke his own school record in the pole vault for the third time this season as the sophomore cleared the bar at 16-feet, while Micah Wessinger nabbed the school record in the 400 with a mark of 57.20, .18 seconds better than Alexis Moore’s record-breaking run in 2007 as the Bulldogs finished up action at the Carolina’s Cup on Friday.

Melton Captures School Record in Pole Vault as Bulldogs Conclude Shamrock Invitational
David Melton cleared the bar at 15’7” in the pole vault at the three-day Shamrock Invitational to break a 31-year-old record of 15’6” set by Bill Burke in 1981. The Mt. Pleasant, S.C., native now holds both the indoor and outdoor pole vault records for the Bulldogs.

Nicole Levermann and Ellison Glenn currently sit in eighth and tenth place, respectively, in the heptathlon and decathlon after day one of the Shamrock Invitational. The meet, which features 10 teams, will begin with field events at 12:30 p.m. with the women's hammer throw, followed by the men. The running events will begin at 3 p.m. with the women’s 3,000.

Miller Advances to Finals in 200 and 400 on Day One of SoCon Championships
Junior Brunson Miller broke his own school record in the 400 for the second time this season with a time of 47.77 on Thursday to advance to the finals at the Southern Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. Miller also posted a top time in the 200 preliminaries with a personal-best mark of 21.68. The six-time conference title winner will go for his seventh and eighth on Friday.

Miller Smashes Conference Record in 400 to Defend Title for Third Consecutive Year
Brunson Miller broke a 23-year-old Southern Conference record in the 400 set by VMI’s Mario Small in the 400 on Friday posting a time of 46.97 en route to earning his seventh SoCon title and third consecutive in the event. The Murrells Inlet, S.C., native was named the 2012 Most Outstanding Track Performer for the indoor championship meet by the conference.

The Bulldog field athletes shined as senior Quintin Turner captured second place in the shot put with a personal-best mark of 47’6.35”, while sophomore Dylan Gidado grabbed fourth, heaving the shot put 43’5”.
