Bulldogs Open 2013 Season at Florida Gulf Coast Spring Invitational

Charleston, S.C. – Dillon Berkabile, Oliver Dedding, David Orces and JC Pauli will travel to Fort Myers, Fla., to represent The Citadel tennis team at the Florida Gulf Coast Spring Invitational this weekend at the FGCU Tennis Complex.

The field of competitors will comprise players from host Florida Gulf Coast, University of South Florida and Tulane. Men's draw play will begin Saturday morning and will consist of seven men's singles and three doubles flights.

Juniors Berkabile and Pauli will make their first appearance for the Bulldogs this season.  High school teammates at Odyssey Charter in Las Vegas, Nev., Pauli is a transfer from Vincennes University where he recorded a 6-2 singles and 8-1 doubles record last year.

Freshman Dedding competed in three tournaments during the fall and earned his best outing at the USC Upstate Fall Classic with partner Peter Bleach.

Senior Orces is coming off a spectacular fall season that included a 17-5 singles record while earning finals appearances in the Division II singles draw at the Southern Intercollegiate Championships and the USTA Clay Court Invitational at Disney.  Orces also won the singles draw championship at the USC Upstate Fall Classic.

Results and a recap will be available following the conclusion of play on Sunday.
