Bulldogs End Regular Season with Loss to Georgia Southern
Statesboro, Ga. – David Orces earned the lone point for the Bulldogs in a 6-1 loss to Georgia Southern on Friday. The Citadel tennis team has ended its season with a 5-17 overall record and 0-10 Southern Conference record while the Eagles end their season 2-19 overall and 1-9 in the SoCon.
Orces collected a victory at No. 1 singles over Alain Garrido 6-0, 6-3. The Bulldog junior led the team all season to conclude with a 13-6 dual record and 6-4 SoCon record.
Although no point was collected, the duo of Elliott Sperr and Alex Howle earned a win in the No. 3 doubles position over Daniel Rush and Derrick Davidson 8-6. The Bulldog tandem led the team with a 10-12 dual record and 4-6 Southern Conference record.
The Bulldogs will take a week break before returning to the courts for the Southern Conference Tournament Championship hosted by The Citadel and the College of Charleston slated for April 19-22.
