Bulldogs Set to Host Buffalo
Charleston, S.C. – The Citadel tennis team will host Buffalo on Monday at 1 p.m. in its final match of non-conference play.
Last Time Out
The Bulldogs were narrowly edged by Charlotte in a 4-3 decision. David Orces, James Atkinson, and Elliott Sperr claimed victories in singles while the duo of Alex Howle and Sperr were victories in doubles, but it wasn't enough to take down the 49ers. Atkinson earned his first singles victory at home while the tandem of Howle and Sperr claimed the first doubles won for the Dogs at the Earle Tennis Center this season. Sperr leads the team in singles with seven wins.
This match will mark the first time the Bulls tennis program will traveled to Charleston to compete against the Bulldogs. Buffalo is currently 1-7 on the season with their lone win coming against Bryant back in January. Their spring break road trip has taken them to South Carolina to face South Carolina State and The Citadel this week. A member of the Mid-American Conference, the Bulls are coming off a successful 12-8 record from last season. UB is lead freshman Damien David with a 4-3 record in singles playing at the No. 1 position. David has accumulated 15 overall wins this season including tournament play. In doubles the duo of Vusa Hove and Wojciech Starakiewicz has earned a 3-4 record in the top spot for the Bulls.
The Bulldogs will be looking for their first win in home territory before starting the heart of conference play.
