One-on-one with Citadel signee Lawrence Miller

Editor's Note: This is the fourth installment of an eight-part series that analyzes the 2010-11 Citadel basketball class. This week we will focus on Gastonia, N.C. native and guard Lawrence Miller. Next week will be an in-depth look at Suffolk, Va. native Ashton Moore.

Charleston, S.C.— Lawrence Miller was one of two players added from North Carolina during the fall signing period by Citadel Head Coach Chuck Driesell and his staff. Miller, a 6-1 guard from United Faith Christian Academy in Charlotte, is a heralded guard that captured the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association (NCISAA) State Championship in the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons.

Miller, a combo guard, also gauged interest from Navy before his commitment to The Citadel. He leaves  highly successful United Faith squad that has an overall combined record of 71-17 (.807) , under coach Shaun Wiseman over the last three seasons. Miller’s teammates include current Florida State guard Ian Miller (no relation) and East Carolina commitment Paris Roberts-Campbell. The Falcons reached the NCISAA State Championship in each of the last three seasons, earning back-to-back titles and runner-up honors in 2010-11. They also made an appearance at the 2011 ESPN Rise Tournament, which features a collection of the nation’s top high school basketball programs, when they squared off with Oak Hill Academy (Va.).
