Bulldogs Complete Home Series with Wofford on Saturday

CHARLESTON, S.C.- The Citadel Basketball team will be seeking its seventh victory at McAlister Field House this season when it welcomes Upstate rival Wofford on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. The 90th installment of a rivalry that dates back to the 1921 season will feature the SoCon's South Division's third place Terriers and fourth place Bulldogs. The Dogs will be looking to snap an eight-game losing streak to Wofford that dates back to the 2006-07 season and in the process move within two games of third place in the standings. The Citadel has a 45-44 edge in the all-time series, including a 28-22 edge at McAlister Field House.

Sophomore center Mike Groselle notched his fourth career double-double, finishing with 15 points and 10 rebounds, but a series of late free throws gave Furman the 59-55 victory at McAlister Field House on Thursday evening. Alongside Groselle in scoring was Austin Dahn, who also finished with 15 points, and Cameron Wells who tallied 10 points and a team-high four assists. The Paladins win snaps a four-game winning streak by the Bulldogs, who fall to 9-14 overall and 5-6 in Southern Conference action.

BULLDOGS PREPARED WITH TOUGH NON-CONFERENCE SCHEDULE: The Citadel's recent climb to fourth place, after winning four of their last five games, in the Southern Conference's South Division standings can be accredited to a tough non-conference schedule. The Bulldogs have squared off with seven teams that are in the top five of their conference standings, including Coastal Carolina and St. Mary's (Md.) who sit atop the Big South and Capital Athletic Conference respectfully.

The Dogs have played six teams (New Mexico, Richmond, Clemson, Colorado, James Madison, Coastal Carolina) with an RPI among the top-100 nationally. The six aforementioned teams, along with St. Mary's College (Md.) have all won 15 or more games this season, led by Coastal Carolina who is currently 21-2 overall with a perfect Big South record of 12-0.

Among the 12 non-conference opponents The Citadel has played against two individuals, Justin Harper (Richmond) and Alec Burks (Colorado), that lead the Atlantic-10 and Big XII in scoring respectfully. The Bulldogs have played against seven players that rank in the top eight in scoring, including the second (Jemarco Warren, Charleston Southern), third (Desmond Holloway, Coastal Carolina) and fourth (Nick Barbour, High Point) scorers in the Big South Conference.

MULTIPLE DOUBLE-DOUBLES IN CITADEL HISTORY: Sophomore Mike Groselle became the 17th different player, since the 1974-75 season, to notch four or more double-doubles during a season. The Citadel's single-season record for double-doubles belongs to Patrick Elmore, who finished with 11 in the 1989-90 campaign. He grabbed the distinction from Regan Truesdale, who amassed 10 in the 1984-85 season en route to a Bulldog single-season record in points (624). Groselle becomes the first Bulldog since Demetrius Nelson in the 2008-09 season to have four or more double-doubles over the duration of a season. Groselle has created a logjam for 17th place, joining 10 other players, including the likes of Tom Slawson, Ted Mosay, Demetrius Nelson and J'Mel Everhart, all members of the 1,000-point club.

Trailing Western Carolina's Jake Robinson for fifth place on the all-time SoCon list of sharpshooters, Urbanus would need five 3-pointers to take sole possession of fifth place.
