Bulldogs Battle Cross-Town Rival Charleston Southern

CHARLESTON, S.C. The Citadel Bulldogs (2-2) will battle the Buccaneers of Charleston Southern (2-2) on Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 7 p.m. in the North Charleston Coliseum. Tuesday’s game will be the Bulldogs’ last game before they head to Cancun, Mexico for the Cancun Challenge Tournament.

The Bulldogs enter the game with a 2-2 record after defeating the Eagles of Cincinnati Christian, 78-55, on Saturday. Cameron Wells led the Bulldogs with 20 points, while Demetrius Nelson added 17. Zach Urbanus had 14 points and led the Bulldogs on the boards with seven.

Going into Tuesday’s game, the Bulldogs are averaging 66.5 points and 30.3 rebounds a game. On offense, they are led by Wells, who is averaging 16.8 points. Nelson is averaging 13.3 points a game and leads the team in rebounds with 4.5.

Charleston Southern enters the game with a 2-2 record after defeating Toccoa Falls College, 107-78, Saturday night. The Buccaneers are averaging 78.2 points and 41.0 rebounds a game. On offense, the Buccaneers are led by Jamarco Warren, who is averaging 23.5 points. Omar Carter is averaging 16.8 points and 7.5 rebounds, while Kelvin Martin is averaging 11.5 points and leads the team in rebounds with 9.0.

Tuesday’s meeting will mark the 32nd meeting between Charleston Southern and The Citadel. In their last meeting, the Bulldogs defeated the Buccaneers, 76-73, in McAlister Field House. That victory marked the first time the Bulldogs had beaten the Buccaneers since 1998. Charleston Southern had won five straight meetings.

The Citadel has the advantage, having won 18 of their 31 meetings. The Citadel looks to stay ahead in the series when they battle Charleston Southern on Tuesday night.
