Chad Wheeler is in his second season at The Citadel and will serve as an assistant coach for the Bulldog defense. Wheeler was in charge of defensive quality control a year ago.

Wheeler is a 2004 graduate of Florida State where he walked on as a long snapper. Following graduation, he worked in sales at a local television station in Jacksonville, Fla., before teaching and coaching at Baldwin High School. 

In the summer of 2008, Wheeler joined Eagle's View Academy as an assistant athletic director and high school teacher while coaching football and baseball until 2011.

Wheeler is currently pursuing a master's degree in health, exercise and sport science in The Citadel Graduate College and resides in North Charleston with his wife, Sara.
