ON RILEY: Was expected to be redshirted during his true freshman season but injuries to starting linebackers Carl Robinson and Rah Muhammad forced him into the lineup in week eight against national power Wofford … will compete for playing time during his second season in an experienced linebacker corps.

FRESHMAN (2012): Played and started in the final four games of the season … in just four games he recorded 43 tackles, seventh most on the team, landing him a spot on the All-Southern Conference Freshman team … led the team in tackles with 12, including three for losses and a sack vs. Wofford in his first collegiate game … followed up the performance with 11 tackles and a ½ sack in a win vs. Elon … closed out the season with another 12-tackle performance in a win vs. Furman.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2012 graduate of Davidson High School ... lettered in football and baseball ... served as a team captain ... made 155 tackles, five tackles for loss, three sacks, four forced fumbles, seven quarterback hurries and an interception his senior season ... named all-region and honorable mention all-state ... helped team win region championship and reach the state semifinals his junior year.
