ON CARTER: Came to The Citadel as a defensive lineman and played there as a freshman before moving over to the offensive line prior to his sophomore season ... started eight games in 2012 before suffering a season-ending Achilles tendon injury … slated to start at left guard for the third straight year.

JUNIOR (2012): Named a team captain … started eight games at left guard before suffering a season-ending achilles tendon injury at the Wofford game … made 59 knockdown blocks, including a career-high 13 on two occasions vs. Appalachian State and NC State.

SOPHOMORE (2011): Moved over from the defensive line to address a need on the offensive front and started all 11 games at left guard ... his unselfishness at making the position change was rewarded with the Team Before Self Award presented by The Citadel Brigadier Foundation ... led the team with 104 knockdown blocks and was credited with 15 vs. Furman and Western Carolina, the most in any game by a Bulldog all season ... also had 11 knockdowns vs. Jacksonville, nine vs. Wofford, Appalachian State and Samford and eight vs. Georgia Southern and South Carolina.

FRESHMAN (2010): Played in all 11 games with two starts on the defensive line as a redshirt freshman and was credited with eight tackles ... had a season-high four stops including a shared sack vs. Chowan ... credited with two tackles for loss on the year.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2009 graduate of North Florida Christian School ... lettered four times in football, three times in track and field and twice in basketball ... made 77 tackles, 55 solo stops, 18 tackles for loss, six sacks and 16 quarterback pressures his senior season while playing on the defensive line and rushed for 159 yards at fullback ... named first team all-state and received the Florida Association of Coaches Award for football and academics ... recipient of the Marine Corps Courage Award ... helped lead team to three consecutive berths in the state championship game, winning the title in 2008.
