  • Game captains: Tolu Akindele, Rickey Anderson, Derek Douglas and Ben Dupree
  • Honorary captain for the game was former VMI football player, Citadel head coach and NFL head coach Bobby Ross.
  • The Bulldogs wore Citadel Blue tops and navy pants for the contest.
  • VMI won the coin toss and elected to defer to the second half.
  • Attendance: 11,184
  • The Citadel blocked their seventh and eighth punts of the season as freshman Carl Robinson blocked his first career punt in the first quarter. Domonic Jones later blocked his fifth punt of the season in the second quarter.
  • Chris Billingslea recovered the blocked punt and returned it for a touchdown, the third score off a blocked this season for The Citadel.
  • Ben Dupree rushed for his fifth and sixth touchdowns of the season on a 23-yard run in the first quarter and 9-yard score in the third quarter.
  • John Synovec blocked his first career punt in the third quarter. It was the third block of the game for the Bulldogs
  • Darien Robinson rushed for his fifth touchdown of the season on a 1-yard run in the second quarter.
  • Ryan Sellers' 37-yard field goal in the third quarter was his fourth converted FG of the season.
  • Thomas Warren converted a 37-yard field goal in the fourth quarter in his first career collegiate kick.
  • It was the fifth straight victory over VMI for The Citadel.
