Bulldogs Compete at Starmount Classic

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Citadel Bulldogs finished 12th at the Starmount Forest Fall Classic played at Starmount Country Club on Monday and Tuesday in their third event of the fall. The Bulldogs finished behind Western Carolina in the team standings.
Campbell (+7) ran away with the event, winning by 32 strokes over Marshall, while Winthrop was third, followed by UNCG and William & Mary, who tied for fourth. Campbell's Stacey White edged out teammates Ayelen Irizar and Annelie Sjoholm by five strokes for medalist honors.
The Citadel's Cameron Little had the Bulldogs' best finish of the year, taking 36th with a score of 238. She carded a 78 in the final round, The Citadel's lowest score of the event. Little had three birdies in the tournament and has seven consecutive pars in the final round.
The Bulldogs' Ashlee Richardson played well in the tournament, taking 51st in the large field. She was tied for fifth in par-3 scoring for the week and had a team-high five birdies, three in the opening round on Monday.
Marina Grimal had two birdies on the week and finished 57th. Nadia Sandler carded an 87 in her final round and was 1-over thru seven holes on Tuesday. Hayley Dettmayer also competed for the Bulldogs.
The Citadel closes out its fall season Oct. 22-24 at the Wofford intercollegiate in Spartanburg, S.C.
