CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel added two more on College Football Performance Award Watch Lists, it was announced Wednesday.
Junior
Eric Goins was added to the Placekicker Award Watch List, and redshirt freshman
Quinlan Washington is included on the Kick Returner Award Watch List. Goins and Washington join defensive lineman
Mitchell Jeter and defensive back
Dee Delaney who were named to their respective position award watch lists earlier this month.
Goins is 35-of-35 on PAT attempts and 11-of-13 on field goals while registering 28 touchbacks on 59 kickoffs this season. The Herndon, Virginia, native leads the Southern Conference with an 84.6 field goal percentage, and his 35 PATs are tied for second in the conference. His 6.8 points by kicking per game and 11 field goals made are third in the conference. In the Bulldogs' 35-14 win over VMI, Goins broke single-game school records with five made field goals and 17 points by kicking. Goins' 128 career kicking points are sixth on The Citadel's all-time list.
Washington is averaging 24.9 yards per kickoff return to top the Southern Conference and rank 28th in FCS. The redshirt freshman from Gainesville, Florida, has totaled 449 yards on 18 kickoff returns with a long of 45 yards recorded at No. 9 Chattanooga. Washington also has 91 interception return yards, including a 72-yard touchdown, for a total of 540 all-purpose yards this season.
