O. Perry Earle, Jr. Tennis
Center &
Donald C. Bunch Courts
Named for O. Perry Earle, Jr., a 1936 Citadel graduate and former varsity tennis player, the Earle Tennis Center is the headquarters of the Bulldog tennis program. Finished in the spring of 1990, the center houses two locker rooms, a coach’s office, an equipment room and meeting room.
The Don C. Bunch Courts, named after a long-time Citadel administrator and tennis coach of 30 years, received a major facelift in the fall of 1995 with Laykold resurfacing, new windscreens and new fencing. In addition, the entire facility was landscaped to blend with the campus. Lights were added to three courts in the fall of 1998. In the fall of 2008, the tennis courts received more updates including The Citadel’s block C in the flooring of the tennis office and tinted sun resistant windows.
The tennis center has been a frequent home of the Southern Conference Tennis Tournament. This is the first time in six years that The Citadel will not host the tournament.
