The Citadel Cross Country
Hello and welcome to The Citadel's Cross Country recruiting page.
After ranking The citadel as one of the best colleges in the South in their survey of "America's Best Colleges," U.S. News & World Report further proved what is already known by many: The Citadel is one of the best schools around. The Citadel offers the best of both worlds with a structured military environment that develops successful leaders while not requiring its graduates to an active military commitment in the armed forces. This environment is designed and has proved successful in instilling and reinforcing leadership skills, character development and physical fitness, as well as faith and values.
Located in the crown jewel of the South, Charleston, the city has everything to offer, no matter what your tastes. A member of the NCAA Division I Southern Conference, The Citadel competes in one of America's oldest conferences that fields some of the country's most competitive athletic teams. The 11-member conference has teams throughout South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee and The Citadel will be celebrating its 70th year in the conference in 2006-07 as one of the oldest members of the conference.
Our men's program has a long and proud tradition in our storied conference and continues to be competitive year after year. Our women's program enters their ninth year of competition this season and is coming off their most successful year ever. There has not been a better time to be a member of our program!
