Charleston, S.C. – Thirteen members of The Citadel’s baseball team are keeping busy on the diamond this summer by honing their skills in summerball leagues across the country. Most of the cadet-student-athletes are spending their summer in the South, playing in either the Coastal Plain League or the Southern Collegiate Baseball League.

Sonny Meade is one of four Bulldogs currently on the Thomasville HiToms team in the Coastal Plain League, along with Kyle Jordan, Chris McGuiness and Grant Richards. Those for Citadel players occasionally face teammate Sid Fallaw, who is a member of the Columbia Blowfish.

Three Bulldogs – including William Ladd, Drew Mahaffey and Legare Jones – are spending their summer in the upstate, playing for the Spartanburg Blue Eagles of the Southern Collegiate Baseball League.

Rising junior Richard Jones is in Massachusetts this summer, playing for the Bourne Braves in the coveted Cape Cod League while Brad Felder is playing for the Watertown Wizards in the New York Collegiate Baseball League.
