Charleston, S.C. - The Citadel track and field team, along with College of Charleston and the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department, will host the Palmetto Classic on Friday, March 11 at the Park West Track Complex in Mount Pleasant, S.C. Field events will begin promptly at 3 p.m. and running events will start at 4 p.m.

The Bulldogs will be competing against Georgia Southern, College of Charleston, Savannah State and Charleston Southern. The Park West Track has eight lanes at 400 meters with a beynon surface. In other parts of the facility there are long jump, triple jump and pole vault runways along with a large high jump apron.

Throws will be conducted on soccer fields near the facility in a full hammer and discus cage. The javelin will also be contested on the fields with a grass runway.

This is the first time in several years that the Bulldog track and field program has hosted an outdoor meet. The Bulldogs are hoping to use home advantage to create facility and meet records.
