Charleston, S.C. - The Citadel wrestling team will be hosting the finals of their Blue/White competition on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 10 a.m. in the wrestling room at Vandiver Hall.

The coaches and wrestlers would like to invite all family, friends, fans, students and staff to come get their first glimpse of the 2009-2010 squad that is just a week away from the start of their season. "This is the first time in a few years that we can look at several weight classes and not know 100% who is going to be the starter at the beginning of the season," said Bulldogs Head Coach Rob Hjerling. "It is exciting to have that competition in the room and to know that if someone gets beat out, they have a lot of open competition and tournaments to get back into the mix of things during the season. This event will show us not only who is competitive in the room, but in a dual meet situation as we will have a weigh in. Coaches will get a chance to see a week before our first dual where we are at and see how the guys respond in a completive spirit heading into competition."

Note: Several schedule changes have been made to the original schedule released for the 2009-2010 season. The Bulldogs will now be participating in the Michigan State Open on Nov. 15. The Citadel will no longer face Millersville in the Ohio Duals on Dec. 4. The Bulldogs added dual meets at Anderson and Limestone on Jan. 28. The current schedule on the wrestling home page is correct.

The Citadel will open the 2009-2010 season on Saturday, Nov. 7 at McAlister Field House as they host The Citadel Open starting at 9 a.m. At 1 p.m. that afternoon, they will host NC State in dual meet action.
